How does the Green Hub benefit me?

The Green Hub provides a range of benefits, from green education to interactive tools, to help you make greener choices. A big focus is on how you can make your home more sustainable and cost-effective to run. 

The interactive Green Home Plan tool gives personalised suggestions for home improvements like better insulation, solar panels, and battery storage. Users can customise these plans based on their preferences and budget. Plus, it shows the potential money and carbon savings and how the upgrades could improve your home’s energy rating (EPC).

Why is Tandem offering a Green Home Plan tool?

Can I use the Green Home Plan tool if I am not a Tandem customer?

Absolutely! The tool is free to use and is available via the Green Hub on our website and app. All you need to do is provide your postcode and answer a few questions about your property. You’ll then receive a full Green Home Plan with specific upgrade suggestions, relevant to your home’s current energy efficiency.

I can’t find my address in the drop down list when I enter my postcode in the Green Home Plan tool?

If you can't find your address in the dropdown list, ensure you've accurately entered your address and postcode with as much detail as possible. If your address includes a building name instead of a number, be sure to include that.

I haven’t received my Green Home Plan email report?

Your Green Home Plan report link might take a few minutes to arrive in your inbox. Don't forget to check your spam or junk folder—it might be hiding there. Once you've checked your email and folders, give the tool another go.

I’m not seeing any recommendations in the Green Home Plan tool?

If the Green Home Plan tool is not offering you any recommendations, this is great news! Your home is already in great shape. We have no recommendations to make, as it appears your energy efficiency measures and renewable technology are perfectly in place, ensuring a comfortable and sustainable living environment.

If you cannot see anything at all, this might be a service error or an internet connectivity issue, so please check you have full internet connection.

I am having trouble entering my home details in the Green Home Plan tool?

If your home doesn't have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), you will need to provide more details about your home. Look out for guidance on how to identify what types of materials or heating system you have. Hover over the ‘?’ for more information.

I am having trouble entering my contact details in the Green Home Plan tool?

If you are having trouble entering your contact details, please check you’ve entered them all correctly and you have internet access. Check the Tandem app is updated to the latest version on your device.

The recommendations are incorrect in my Green Home Plan?

The Green Home Plan tool combines publicly available data from the government’s EPC register with the information you provide about your home, such as upgrades already made and heating methods, to provide you with tailored suggestions. 

To refine your recommendations, visit the 'Personalisation' section on the left-hand toolbar. Here you can adjust 'Home,' 'Heating,' and 'Grants' to fine-tune your recommendations.

Just a reminder - while we're all about helping you go greener, when considering our recommendations, please note any potential savings on bills are estimates only.

How do I access my Green Home Plan report at a later date?

Your Green Home Plan will be available for 1 month via the link we email to you. Consider starring or marking the email as a favourite, to easily find it.

I own multiple homes, can I use the Green Home Plan tool for all my properties?

Yes, you can use the tool for each of your properties. Just enter the new postcode and start answering the questions again for each property.

Where do the Green Home Plan recommendations come from?

The Green Home Plan tool combines publicly available data from the government’s EPC register with the information you provide about your home, such as upgrades already made and heating methods, to provide you with tailored suggestions. 

Don't worry if you don't have an energy performance certificate (EPC). The tool can collect necessary details about your house type, structure, materials, and heating method even without an EPC. If you're unsure about your home's specifics, just hover over the ‘?’ for helpful explanations. All the information you provide helps the tool generate tailored recommendations for your home.

Yes! You can find it in the Green Hub tab in the Tandem app.

Why aren’t there suppliers recommended for all upgrades in my Green Home Plan?

We've partnered with Anglian Windows and Project Better Energy to provide home energy upgrade options aligned with your report recommendations. These partners might also offer finance options through Tandem.

We're actively working to add more partners in the future. Watch this space!

How do I enquire with the partners you’ve recommended in my Green Home Plan?

When you click through to the partner from the tool, you'll be redirected to a web page with more information about the upgrade and an enquiry form. Simply fill in the form and we'll connect you with our verified partner. They'll be in touch directly.

What is an EPC rating?

An EPC rating (Energy Performance Certificate rating) is a measure of a building's energy efficiency, indicating how much energy it uses for heating, cooling, lighting, and hot water. The rating is represented by a letter scale from A to G, where A is the most energy-efficient (and environmentally friendly), and G is the least efficient.

How can I improve my EPC rating?

You can improve your property's EPC rating by following our Green Home Plan on our website or in the Home section of our app, which offers personalised recommendations specifically tailored to your property.

It may take some time for your report to update following any changes.

Where does my Home Energy Report in the app come from?

Your Home Energy (EPC) Report is generated from a government-owned database. You can find more details here.

I own multiple properties, can I store multiple reports?

Currently, you can only store one Home Energy (EPC) Report. Storing reports for multiple properties isn't supported yet.

The app is saying my Home Energy Report cannot be found. What should I do?

First, double-check that you’ve entered the correct postcode. If the issue continues, it’s possible your property doesn’t have a current Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

To get an EPC, you can request one through our accredited partner Vibrant.

Please note: If your property is in Scotland, certificates from Scottish Energy are not currently supported.

Why has my home report disappeared in the app?

Your home report will be removed if you uninstall the app. Simply re-enter your car registration to add your report again.

Where does my car report come from?

Your car report is generated from a government-owned database. You can find more information here

I own multiple cars, can I have multiple car reports?

Currently, you can only have one car report at a time in the app. However, you can generate a new report for a different car by selecting "Edit details" and entering the new car registration. Be sure to take a screenshot of your results before you do!

Can I get a report for other types of vehicles, such as motorbikes?

At the moment, we only provide reports for cars. Motorbikes and other vehicle types are not supported.

The app is saying my report cannot be found. What should I do?

First, just double-check that you’ve entered the correct car registration number. If the issue continues, it may mean that your vehicle isn’t listed in the database. This can happen if the car is newly registered, an import, or has incomplete or outdated information in official records.

Car Money (CM) is our trusted broker partner, who connect customers with their authorised dealerships and Tandem's motor finance products.

How is my car valuation calculated?

We use real-time data to calculate your car’s value, including the latest market trends and pricing information. The valuation is based on your car’s make, model, and mileage. While we do our best to provide an accurate estimate, please remember this valuation is meant as a guideline and isn’t guaranteed.

Why has my car valuation not been found?

Your valuation may not be available because there isn’t enough market data for your vehicle. This can happen if the vehicle is rare, has limited sales history, or if the information provided was incomplete.

Why do I get different figures when I select either Buy, Insure or Sell?

Each valuation serves a different purpose:

· Buy: This is the estimated price you’d pay to purchase the car.

· Sell: This is the amount you could expect to receive if selling the car, which is typically lower than the buy price.

· Insure: This value reflects the car’s worth for insurance purposes, factoring in depreciation and replacement costs.

The figures vary because buying, selling, and insuring a car involve different criteria and calculations.

What is a lower emission vehicle?

A lower emission vehicle is one with CO2 emissions of 110g/km or less, meaning they pollute less than other vehicles.

What does being eligible for Tandem Motor Finance mean?

Being eligible means, you’ve been provisionally accepted for one of our finance products. You’ll receive a quote with details, but please note:

· The quote is indicative and not a guarantee of finance.

· Final figures may change after further checks based on your circumstances.

Is my Tandem Motor Finance estimate the best deal available to me?

Your Tandem Motor Finance estimate is exclusive to Tandem and may not be your best deal available. We encourage you to shop around to explore all of your options first.

Why am I not eligible for Tandem Motor Finance?

If you’ve been told you’re not eligible, it means you don’t currently meet the criteria for our motor finance products. This includes (but is not limited to):

1. Being a British national or permanent UK resident

2. Being 18 years or older

3. Holding a valid UK driver’s license

4. Passing our credit and affordability checks
